The Capital Ring Walk
The Capital Ring walk encircles central London. It threads together lots of open spaces and parks to create a pleasant walk 78 miles long, encompassing some of the best scenery the city has to offer.
Not that you have to walk all 78 miles in one go, of course. The route has been helpfully broken down into 15 sections which are easily walkable by most people, with plenty of time to explore along the way.
Transport for London, which has funded the walk, has worked with local authorities in the capital to develop the resource. The route not only passes through parks and commons but also nature reserves, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and many interesting spaces such as the Abney Park Cemetery and Eltham Palace.
And with helpful signposts along the way, you can even explore London via this surprisingly green walking route at your leisure without fear of losing your way. |
